The American Recovery and Reinvestment act is providing the USEPA Brownfields Program with $100 million!
This is big news because Blue Island will have more opportunities to receive grants in the future to revitalize the city. Read more about the ARRA EPA funding here.
The City submitted a Request for Proposals (RFP) back in February regarding Environmental Engineering Services for our 2008 USEPA Brownfields Assessment Grant for Hazardous and Petroleum sites.
We received an overwhelming response of 22 proposals. Below is the list of firms who we received responses from:

After a difficult selection process, we shortlisted the following firms:
- AECOM
- URS Corporation
- V3 Companies, Ltd.
We hope to interview these 3 firms in the next couple of weeks and make a decision shortly after to start the much anticipated work on the 2008 grant.
