Phase I Environmental Site Assessment
A Phase I Environmental Site Assessment is a physical inspection of a potential brownfield site. Phase I assessment components include:
- a records review;
- a site reconnaissance (investigation);
- interviews with individuals familiar with historical operations at the property;
- and reporting
No actual testing or sampling will be performed during the Phase I ESAs.
Following the American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM) Standard E1527-05 titled “Standard Practice for Environmental Site Assessments, AECOM Environment will perform the 25 Phase I ESAs in Blue Island.
